The watch designed to continuously monitor your Atrial Fibrillation in real-time.

OUR DEVICE

Here at CardiBeats, we never want you to miss a beat. So, we developed the CardiGram, a wearable device that can detect and record abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) activity and Atrial Fibrillation (AF) patterns in real time. Our product includes a watch and an accompanying wristlet. This two part system is what enables the CardiGram to conduct continuous ECG monitoring.

WHY CONTINUOUS MONITORING?

Four Elderly People Hiking

We developed the CardiGram to utilize continuous ECG monitoring methods so that our patients can get real-time notifications of any abnormalities. Continuous monitoring also allows patients and physicians to have a more complete picture of patients' conditions. When walking into the doctor's office, patients will now have more data about their health. This not only facilitates proper assessments about their condition's progression, but also means more informed and efficient treatment options. Real-time detection means patients can get real-time care, making it the best way to prevent AF-related strokes and accidents while you're on the move.

HOW IT WORKS

Image of CardiGram Wrist Watch Device

The CardiGram is a user-friendly wearable wristwatch that gives users the ability to continuously monitor the electrical signals of their heart. The device includes a touch screen and an adjustable band to accommodate for a wide consumer base.
A data acquisition system is used to acquire ECG signals, record the acquired data, and filter the signals in order to determine if AF is present. In addition, we are currently developing a bluetooth system that will allow our device to connect to a mobile app. The mobile app will give users access to their recorded heart activity and will include a notification system and a feature that connects users to their primary physician and to find nearby medical facilities in case of a medical emergency (click here to learn more).

MOBILE APPLICATION (2020)

Our team is currently working to develop a mobile application to seamlessly connect our wearable device to our users’ cell phones or other mobile devices via Bluetooth. Users would receive real-time alerts when experiencing an Atrial Fibrillation attack in order to receive immediate treatment later or notify their physician for improved consultation. The application would also locally store users’ ECG data to be examined by a medical professional at a later time. Eventually, we would hope that our app will be able to send and store data within a cloud-based system in order for remote and instant viewing.

Features of Mobile App:

  • User-friendly and simple interface for our target demographic of 65+
    • Large text, minimal menus, high constrast graphics
    • Directions on how to sync CardiGram wristwatch to mobile app
  • Real time alerts in the event of an atrial fibrillation attack
  • Storage of ECG data snapshots for medical professional usage
  • Future: Cloud-based storage and viewing for secured protection
